Wāhine Waves

Launched by the club during the summer of 2022/2023, Wāhine Waves is a series of free events to encourage women in the water.

 

The club has more than 500 members, however only a small portion are women who surf. Many female club members are the surf support crew for their families, but don't have the confidence or haven't had the opportunity to safely try surfing.

The events are relaxed and begin with a surf lesson by Deken Waves, consisting of board and water safety, followed by a session in the water.
